Gerry McCann rejects claim that an IVF sperm donor was the father of Madeleine

Not only do the McCann’s have to put up with all sorts of smears and suggestions about their alleged involvement in Maddie’s disappearance, but they now have to answer allegations that Maddie was an IVF baby and that Gerry McCann is not the biological father of Maddie. Gerry McCann has rejected this claim as being outrageous.

This claim about Madeleine’s parentage is the latest to come out of Portugal. The newspaper 24 Horas, has made the claim, indicating that the 4 year old’s parentage (according to them) meant that her DNA could not be confused with that of her twin brother and sister.

The reason for this latest smear? The alleged body fluids that are alleged to have been found in the car that was hired by the McCann’s must belong to Madeleine and that this is an indication that the child’s body was removed by the McCann’s in the days following her alleged death.

The McCanns are planning to sue 24 horas and other media outlets over the smears, as soon as the “official suspect status” is lifted.

I think that Gerry’s mother says it best:

Mr McCann’s mother Eileen, 67, from Glasgow, said: ‘To say Gerry is not Madeleine’s natural father is utterly ridiculous.
“Madeleine is my natural granddaughter. Her eyes and nose are the same as mine.
“These allegations are totally unfounded. They are pure
speculation and a load of nonsense. Whatever will the Portuguese papers
make up next?” Jill Renwick, a close friend of the family, described the
report as “absolute rubbish”. She said: “Gerry is Madeleine’s
biological father. I know for a fact there was no donor sperm.
